克流感其實並不能真正殺死H1N1病毒,其主要是用來阻止H1N1病毒的複製與擴散,以降低病毒的散播,達到治療流感的效果。它可以使感染到流感的患者提早2-3天恢復到正常體能及活動力, 同時使流感病狀減輕。 H1N1就像A型流感的病毒一般,僅會在上呼吸道感染並擴散,其傳染途徑是經由鼻孔、嘴巴、和喉嚨。 這是個全球性的傳染病,不論我們做了多麼完整與嚴密的防護也幾乎不可能不接觸到它。
 
  當你在健康狀態且沒有任何感染H1N1的症狀時,為了避免再將病毒擴散,或是讓症狀惡化,或是再造成二度傳染;與其努力囤積N95口罩或是克流感,還不如用以下幾個簡單的步驟 (雖然不太常看到或聽到相關的推廣)來做為日常的保健:

1. 勤洗手 (已大量宣導)。
 
2. 請將你的手遠離你的臉。 壓抑住所有用手摸臉的企圖 (除非是要吃東西、洗澡、或是打人耳光)。
 
3. 每天用溫鹽水漱口兩次 (如果你不信任鹽水,也可用李施德霖之類的漱口水取代)。 H1N1在喉腔與鼻腔有2-3天的潛伏期才會開始擴散並發作;簡單的漱口可以阻止病毒擴散的機會。 在某種程度上而言,用鹽水漱口對健康的人來說的效果就如同克流感對於一個已感染H1N1的人是一樣的。 所以請千萬不要低估了這個簡單、便宜、又非常有效的預防方法。
 
4. 同以上第三點,每天至少一次用溫鹽水清潔你的鼻孔;每天一次將鼻子用力吹氣,並用棉花沾溫鹽水擦拭鼻孔,這是非常有效並可以清除周遭病毒的存在
 
5. 多吃含維他命C的食物 (如柑橘類、莓類的水果),以增強自身的免疫力;如果你已經有補充維他命丸,要確定也要補充鋅/生物類黃酮 ( Bioflavonoids ;生物類黃酮的最佳食物來源包括柑橘水果的白色果皮部分和包著果囊的薄皮、杏、蕎麥、紅色及黃色的洋蔥、黑莓、櫻桃、玫瑰種子(玫瑰果實)製成的茶以及蘋果),以增進維他命C的吸收。
 
6. 多喝溫水。 多喝溫水的效果和漱口的道理是一樣的,只不過液體流向相反罷了。這樣可以幫助將潛伏的病毒,自喉嚨沖到胃部,因為在胃裏面,病毒將無法生存,更無法擴散或作怪。
 
與其在醫院大排長龍等著掛號看診,還不如就從日常生活中採取非常簡便的預防方法與步驟! 如何創造一個沒有H1N1病毒的健康環境,就從你、我開始。

Tamiflu does not kill but prevents H1N1 from further proliferation till
the virus limits itself in about 1-2 weeks (its natural cycle). H1N1, 
like other Influenza A viruses, only infects the upper respiratory 
tract and proliferates (only) there. The only portals of entry are the 
nostrils and mouth/ throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's
almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions.
Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 
infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms 
and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps - not 
fully highlighted in most official communications - can be practiced 
(instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

 1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

 2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any 
part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

 3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't 
trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the 
throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms.
Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a > way, gargling with salt 
water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on 
an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple,inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

 4. Similar to 3 above, clean your nostrils at least once every day 
with warm salt water. Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra 
Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but blowing the nose 
hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in 
warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population..

 5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C 
(Amla and other citrus fruits). If you have to supplement with Vitamin 
C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc/bioflavonoids to boost absorption.


 6. Drink as much of warm liquids as you can. Drinking warm liquids has 
the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash 
off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they 
cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

All these are simple ways to prevent, within means of most households, 
and certainly much less painful than to wait in long queues outside
public hospitals..

I do hope, this information could be passed on to one and all, for a 
healthy and H1N1 free environment.
